Boys’ basketball: Alemany clinches Mission League title

With a little help from Loyola, Alemany clinched the Mission League title on Monday night with a 65-42 win over St. Francis.
Shacquille Dawkins scored 20 points, Daron Henson had 15 and Kevin Summers added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
“It means a lot,” Coach Tray Meeks said of the league title. “Our league is so competitive and so well-coached. It was a total team effort.”
The Warriors improved to 10-1 in league and have a two-game lead with one to play thanks to Loyola’s 59-56 win over Crespi. Loyola pulled out the win on a three-pointer by Max Hazzard with just over two seconds left. Hazzard finished with 23 points and Stone Gettings had 15 points in helping the Cubs move into a tie for second place with Crespi. The Celts came back from 13 points down to tie the game, 56-56, on a basket by Brandon Williams. Taj Regans led Crespi with 15 points.

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame knocked off Chaminade, 62-60. Gabe Rishwain led the Knights with 16 points. Chibueze Jacobs had a block at the end of the game to preserve the victory.
In the Del Rey League, Bishop Montgomery (25-1) clinched the league championship with a 64-53 win over Cantwell-Sacred Heart. Stephen Thompson Jr. finished with 24 points. Jacob Davison led Cantwell with 20 points.
Dikymbe Martin scored 28 points to lead Riverside JW North (25-1) to a 65-49 win over Rancho Verde. North clinched the Inland Valley League championship.
