Football: Alemany wins El Rancho passing tournament

Sophomore quarterback Brevin White is helping to make Alemany a team to watch in summer passing tournaments.
He led the Warriors to the seven on seven championshp of the El Rancho tournament on Saturday. The Warriors defeated Mission Viejo in the final. Receiver Jarrin Pierce was impressive catching passes, Coach Dean Herrington said.
Cornerback Brian Barry also had a big day for Alemany, which defeated Oaks Christian in the semifinals. Mission Viejo defeated Hart in its semifinal.
There are more passing tournaments next weekend. On Saturday, there’s the Conejo Valley tournament at Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks.
Next Sunday, Long Beach Poly is running a 16-team tournament at StubHub Center in Carson.
On June 26-27, Bonita is hosting a tournament.
The featured tournament of the summer is at Edison on July 11 and features Corona Centennial, St. John Bosco and Mater Dei, among others.
Huntington Beach is hosting a tournament on July 18.
