Football: Grant Bunker to take over QB duties at Westlake
- Share via
First-year Coach Tony Henney of Westlake said senior Grant Bunker will get the first crack as the starting quarterback for Westlake.
Bunker started one game last season when Malik Henry was injured and responded by passing for 258 yards and five touchdowns against Paraclete.
Henney has been most impressed with senior receiver Theo Howard, an Oregon commit.
“He’s the best guy I’ve been around as far as speed and route running,” he said.
Henney said Howard’s body control is exceptional.
Westlake opens its season on Aug. 28 at Oxnard.
