Football: Narbonne begins tough four-game stretch

If Narbonne Coach Manuel Douglas was looking to improve his career won-loss record, he sure wouldn’t have scheduled Long Beach Poly, Alemany, Gardena Serra and Los Alamitos as his team’s next four opponents.
Douglas’ goal is winning a City Section Division I championship, and he feels the tough challenge ahead will prepare the Gauchos.
“We’d love to win them,” he said, “but we don’t have to. Playing well in them gets us there.”
The Gauchos face Long Beach Poly on Friday at Veterans Stadium.
“Poly’s defense is pretty good,” he concluded after watching video from the Jackrabbits’ 54-14 victory over Crenshaw last week.
