Football: Rancho Cucamonga is capable of scoring lots of points

Coming off a 10-2 season and returning lots of key players, beware of Rancho Cucamonga, particularly on offense.
Quarterback Angel Matute passed for 1,374 yards as a sophomore, and running back Aaron Manning rushed for 682 yards as a sophomore. Both should be even better as juniors.
The Cougars started a freshman in a playoff game, defensive back Jaylon Redd, so watch for him to make a leap in ability.
There’s experience on the offensive and defensive lines.
Coach Nick Baiz has put together a competitive nonleague schedule with games against Trabuco Hills, Norco, Bishop Amat, Murrieta Valley and La Serna.
“We think we’ll be able to be competitive,” Baiz said.
