Football: Tesoro is ready to be a top team
- Share via
The usual Orange County football powers could be joined by a new team, Tesoro, this fall.
Second-year Coach Matt Poston has the makings of a team capable of running or passing and playing strong defense.
The development of junior quarterback Devon Modster will give Tesoro lots of options. There’s two returning all-league linemen in Zach Hickman and Nick Fehrenbach. Jake Smeltzer is a 6-foot-3 receiver ready to have a breakout season.
On defense, safety Tristan Kafentzis should be outstanding. He was first-team all-South Coast League.
