Girls’ volleyball: Zana Muno, Crissy Jones advance in Portugal

The beach volleyball team of Zana Muno from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and Crissy Jones from Los Alamitos has advanced to the round of 16 at the FIBA Beach Volleyball U19 World Championships in Portugal.
Muno, who will be a senior this fall at Notre Dame and is committed to UCLA, and Jones, headed to Washington, won their match, 21-14, 21-18.
The championship is set for Sunday.
In the men’s competition, T.J. DeFalco from Huntington Beach and Louis Richard, a Redondo grad, won in the first round and were playing their second-round match on Saturday.
