The speed gene runs strong in the Davis family.
Brothers Dominic and Diab Davis of Alemany High ran the state’s fastest times in the 100 meters on Saturday at the Redondo Invitational.
Dominic, a senior, ran 10.56 seconds. Diab, a junior, ran 10.60. Both were wind-aided, according to PrepCalTrack.com.
It will be the last 100 meters for the two brothers until next month’s Arcadia Invitational, according to Coach Mike Wellington.
They can always watch the third brother in the family, Rodrick, a fourth-grader, who’s also very fast.
In the girls’ 100, Courtne Davis of Eastvalle Roosevelt ran 11.95 seconds.
