USC football: Lane Kiffin meets with Silas Redd

USC Coach Lane Kiffin met Thursday with Penn State running back Silas Redd, according to a report by ESPN’s Joe Schad.
Kiffin met with Redd for three hours in Connecticut, and Redd could visit USC this weekend, the report said.
Kiffin has pursued Redd since Monday, when the NCAA hit Penn State with sanctions that allow any Nittany Lions player an opportunity to transfer without sitting out a season.
Redd, a junior, rushed for 1,241 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
USC is seeking to add depth at tailback.
Senior Curtis McNeal, who rushed for 1,005 yards last season, is the returning starter. Redshirt sophomore D.J. Morgan is the only other scholarship tailback with experience.
Kiffin had hoped that Tre Madden would supply a big-back presence, but the converted linebacker suffered a season-ending knee injury during spring practice.
