D-Fenders recent coaching hire Conner Henry leaves for Orlando Magic

Conner Henry, whom the D-Fenders announced as their coach on June 10, is heading to Orlando to join the staff of Magic Coach Scott Skiles.
The Magic announced their coaching staff on Friday, including Adrian Griffin, Monte Mathis, Mario Elie and Henry.
The Lakers’ NBA Development League affiliate will need to find a replacement. Henry originally replaced Phil Hubbard, who coached the 17-33 D-Fenders last season.
This isn’t the first coaching call-up for the D-Fenders. Mark Madsen was introduced in May 2013, before leaving the D-League to become a player development coach for Mike D’Antoni and the Lakers.
Madsen has since been promoted to full-fledged assistant under Coach Byron Scott.
In addition to adding Henry to their staff, the Magic have retained former Lakers guard Laron Profit, along with Jay Hernandez, as assistant/player development coaches.
