All signs point to Chris Paul re-signing with Clippers

All early indications Sunday were that Chris Paul was going to re-sign with the Clippers.
The Clippers’ plan is to offer Paul a maximum five-year deal worth $107.3 million when the free-agency period opens at 9:01 p.m. Sunday night.
Paul, an unrestricted free agent, can agree to the deal tonight, but he can’t sign a contract until the NBA lifts its moratorium on July 10.
Doc Rivers, the Clippers’ new coach and senior vice president of basketball operations, plans to be at Paul’s home Sunday night right when the free-agency period opens, said NBA executives who weren’t authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
The Clippers also have interest in free-agent shooting guard Tony Allen, who played last season with the Memphis Grizzlies, the executives said.
Allen, who made $3.3 million last season, probably will be seeking the full mid-level exception that starts at $5.1 million for the 2013-14 season.
The representatives for Matt Barnes said they were expecting a call from the Clippers right after free agency starts.
“They’ve got to move quick,” said one executive. “He’d like to stay there. There’s no excuse why he can’t.”
