Flesh-colored uniforms land women cyclists in hot water

The women who ride for a Colombian cycling team are continuing to draw criticism for their provocative flesh-colored uniforms.
On Monday, the president of the international cycling federation called Bogota Humana’s unusual fashion statement “unacceptable by any standard of decency.”
The team debuted its outfits at the Tour of Tuscany in Italy last weekend.
The uniforms were bright red and yellow with a swath of flesh-colored fabric placed strategically across the midriff and upper thighs.
“This has turned the sport into a joke. Girls stand up for yourselves -- say no,” tweeted Nicole Cooke, an Olympic gold medalist for Britain.
It was unclear if the Colombian team planned a repeat showing at a race in Spain next weekend. UCI President Brian Cookson tweeted that his federation is “on the case.”
