The Clippers are set to face the Indiana Pacers at Staples Center on Wednesday night, with the L.A. squad having won five consecutive games at home while the Pacers have lost six straight games on the road.
When the teams played Dec. 10, the Clippers won, 103-96, giving them their ninth straight win. In that game, the Clippers outshot the Pacers from the field, 48% to 39%, and outrebounded them, 50-43. The Clippers finished with six players in double-figures, having 25 assists on their 42 field goals.
After playing the Pacers, the Clippers lost two in a row before beating the Detroit Pistons, 113-91, on Monday.
Clippers’ backup center Spencer Hawes, who has a left knee bruise, is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game. For the Pacers, Paul George (fractured right tibula/fibula) is out indefinitely. George Hill (left knee contusion) and Ian Mahinmi (torn left plantar fascia) are also out.
If the Clippers win Wednesday, they will sweep the season series with the Pacers, something they have not done since the 2004-05 season.
The Clippers (17-7) are in fifth place in the Western Conference while the Pacers (8-17) are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.
