UCLA’s Jerry Neuheisel, Ishmael Adams earn Pac-12 player of week honors

UCLA quarterback Jerry Neuheisel has been named the Pac-12’s offensive player of the week and defensive back Ishmael Adams the special team player of the week for their effort in UCLA’s 20-17 victory over Texas on Saturday.
Neuheisel came off the bench after quarterback Brett Hundley injured his left elbow in the first quarter. He completed 23 of 30 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Neuheisel’s 33-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Payton gave the Bruins a 20-17 lead with three minutes left.
Adams set up the game-winning touchdown with a 45-yard punt return. UCLA scored on the next play. Adams had three returns for 62 yards.
