End of spring depth chart
Starter: Junior Justin Davis or fifth-year senior Tre Madden.
Backups: Third-year sophomore James Toland IV and redshirt freshman Stefan Smith.
Incoming: Freshmen Dominic Davis, Ronald Jones and Aca’Cedric Ware
Review: USC tailbacks played a limited a role in the spring scrimmage because of a lack of depth at the position.
Justin Davis and Madden were the only scholarship players available in practices and Madden was held out of most of the contact drills because of a foot injury that sidelined him last season.
Justin Davis, who fumbled several times last season, improved his ball security and appeared to regain the confidence he had his freshman season before he suffered an ankle injury.
Dominic Davis, Jones and Ware will join the team in training camp.
