Valencia West Ranch sophomore outfielder Jason Drees has an 18-game hitting streak and is batting .439 with 29 hits.
The streak began with the fourth game of the season, the second game of a doubleheader against El Camino Real. He got a hit. And every game since, he’s gotten at least one hit.
His only hit on Friday against Saugus was the game-winning single in the seventh with two outs.
“He’s turned into probably our best contact hitter,” Coach Casey Burrill said. “He’s shown tremendous hand-eye coordination and poise. He’s a very patient hitter.”
