Oak Park bids for championships in boys’ and girls’ lacrosse

Oak Park’s boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams will play in the Southern Section semifinals on Wednesday at Mira Costa, with the girls’ team facing Agoura at 5 p.m. and the boys’ team taking on Palos Verdes at 7 p.m. for the Northern Division championship.
The winners advance to play the Orange County champion in the Southern Section championship games on Saturday at Huntington Beach at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Orange County finals on Wednesday at Aliso Niguel match Los Alamitos and Beckman in girls and JSerra and Foothill in boys.
Oak Park’s girls’ team has been receiving strong scoring from Julia Gilliam, Morgan Shorts and Ania Brown. Goalie Meggie Sheehan has done well, too.
