It’s Las Vegas in San Diego: A party for all ages ... at the zoo?

If you love music, dance and acrobats, a nightly party where kids are welcome is going on all summer at the San Diego Zoo.
The theme of the 22nd annual Nighttime Zoo party this year is “Shake, Rattle & Roar.” The festivities start 3:30 p.m. daily; the zoo closes at 9 p.m. The party continues until Sept. 7.
Included in the lineup are an a cappella group, a brass band and a hip-hop dance group.
Perennial favorites Dr. Zoolittle and Viva Las Kangas, the trampoline- flipping, kangaroo-costumed acrobats, are also back.
Attendees will get a kind of insiders look at “Las Vegas and what happens when the ‘kangaroos’ take a vacation there and become obsessed with the Vegas headliners,” said Jenny Mehlow, public relations rep for the San Diego Zoo.
The entertainment schedule can be found on the Nighttime Zoo page.
While you’re there, you also can visit the Asian leopards’ habitat that opened in early June.
