The 64-story Trump hotel in Vegas, gilded with gold glass windows, offers 1,282 rooms and condos -- including 50 penthouse suites -- at the northern end of the Strip. The hotel is targeting visitors who seek luxury accommodations and a staff attention. An “attaché” calls before and during arrival to see if visitors have questions. Times’ hotel reviewer Valli Herman found that her attaché was a little slow on the draw; Herman had already made spa and restaurant reservations by the time she was called. And the attaché didn’t have quite enough clout to get good dinner reservations at several top restaurants. That could change as the hotel matures, however. Things may be a little slow at Trumps golden oasis right now, Herman writes, but it’s nice to have a place to indulge in quieter pleasures, such as fine wine, hot baths and lazy days by the pool.
