TSA expands PreCheck screening to John Wayne Airport’s Terminal B
- Share via
The Transportation Security Administration will add PreCheck expedited security screening Wednesday to a second terminal at John Wayne Airport (SNA).
Passengers registered with the program will be able to use the faster lane from 5 to 7 a.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 6 to 8 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays, according to a TSA statement. Travelers registered with PreCheck proceed through airport screening more quickly because they don’t have to remove their shoes or belts and can leave laptops in cases.
TSA already operates a PreCheck lane in Terminal A open during daily during regular airport hours. The program started at the Santa Ana airport in December 2012 for eligible passengers on Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and US Airways.
The agency says 12 million passengers have used PreCheck lanes at airports since the program started in October. It’s available in 40 airports, including Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and includes fliers on Hawaiian Airlines and Virgin America.
For more information about the program, check the TSA’s PreCheck website.
