An Israeli police officer drags two Jewish settlers from an unauthorized settlement house in the West Bank city of Hebron. Israeli forces in Hebron evicted about 250 settlers, who barricaded themselves inside and hurled rocks, eggs and chemicals at the forces conducting the evictions. It was the first major West Bank evacuation since a violent 2006 confrontation that injured hundreds, but a new generation of settlers has fueled confrontations with Palestinian villagers and Israeli security forces.
