The Region : Man Slain Near Hollywood Dance Club

A man was killed in a gang-related stabbing outside the Florentine Gardens, a popular Hollywood dance club, police said. George Ubillus, 19, was with friends in a parking lot across the street from the night spot at 5951 Hollywood Blvd. when three men walked up to the group, Lt. Daniel Lang said. Heated words were exchanged “about gang affiliations” and one of the suspects stabbed Ubillus in the neck, Lang said. The victim’s friends chased after the others, but could not catch up with them, Lang said. Ubillus died at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.
