Philadelphia Electric Co., saying personnel shake-ups were likely, launched its own investigation into the “devastating” Nuclear Regulatory Commission charge that operators at Peach Bottom nuclear plant slept on the job. J. L. Everett, the utility’s chairman and chief executive officer, said the plant would remain closed for weeks and perhaps months--at a cost of $5 million a month--as a result of the shutdown ordered by the NRC.
