Garden Grove : Arizona Murder Suspect May Be in County Area

Authorities said Wednesday that they suspect the killer of an Arizona salesman may be in the county because the salesman’s credit cards have been used in Garden Grove and Anaheim.
Larance Marcouillier, 43, of Phoenix, was found shot to death Feb. 28 in a remote area of desert off of Interstate 10, detectives said. The highway runs between Arizona and California.
In March, Marcouillier’s credit card was used at a Garden Grove store, and police got a description of the card user from a woman who saw him. Authorities said the credit cards also have been used in Anaheim and Tijuana.
The suspect is described as a scraggly “dishwater blond” with “neck-length hair.” Witnesses have described the man using the credit cards as 35 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall and 160 to 180 pounds. Garden Grove Police Lt. Ken Whitman said: “He has a very weathered appearance and may look older than he actually is.”
Authorities said he may be hitchhiking and traveling by bus and may be carrying a blue duffel bag and wearing a silver, horseshoe-style belt buckle.
“We’ve really run out of leads locally,” said Maricopa County Sheriff detective Tom Shorts. “We need to put a name with that face. Then we can find him. He may still be in Orange County and he may kill again. . . . It’s pretty spooky to think this guy is still out there running around.”
Whitman said the suspect “may be frequenting such places as bars and adult book stores. He could be living on the street or along freeway fences--the transient type. It is believed that the suspect may have hitchhiked from Tijuana, Mexico, to the Anaheim area,” Whitman added.
Police released a composite sketch of the suspect and asked anyone with information to call the Garden Grove Police Department at (714) 638-6615.
