Yaroslavsky Files to Raise Funds for Possible Mayoral Bid

In his first official step toward running for mayor in 1989, Los Angeles City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky filed papers today with the city clerk to raise money for a possible mayoral campaign.
Under city law, any candidate who wants to raise money for a city office must declare an intent to solicit contributions. Mayor Tom Bradley already has filed such papers.
The action does not require Yaroslavsky to run in two years.
