San Diego High School Baseball : Fallbrook Walks Over Torrey Pines in Win
- Share via
Opposing pitchers have started walking T.J. Flynn of Fallbrook High School, who has 11 home runs and 31 RBIs this season.
That’s just fine with teammate Bill Dunckel, who hits after Flynn in the lineup.
Dunckel hit a grand slam and a three-run home run to lead Fallbrook to a 19-0 victory over Torrey Pines in a Palomar League game Wednesday at Fallbrook.
After Flynn hit a two-run homer in the first inning, he walked on his next two at-bats. The walks simply meant two more RBIs for Dunckel.
Flynn’s 31 RBIs broke the school season record of 30 set by Bill Bright in 1976. Flynn is one home run short of breaking the San Diego Section season record shared by three players. Dunckel’s second home run was his fifth of the season. Cory Conrad added a solo shot in the fifth for Fallbrook (3-1, 13-4).
Torrey Pines, which committed four errors, is 2-3 and 6-8.
