I was distressed to read about changes in UCLA’s undergraduate arts curriculum. The proposed changes eliminate undergraduate majors in music performance and music education. I am not a student or professor at UCLA so as an objective observer it seems clearly a matter of “money over art” that only serves to undermine the aesthetic experience.
