Folding Lawn Chairs for Children Recalled

WASHINGTON — About 64,000 children’s folding lawn chairs are being recalled because of the danger of finger injury when the chairs are collapsed, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday.
Involved are chairs imported from Italy by Action Industries Inc. of Cheswick, Pa., the agency said. The chairs were sold nationally from 1982 to 1985.
The commission said 22 instances have been reported in which children’s fingers became caught when the chair was collapsed. Some cases involved laceration or loss of a fingertip, the agency said.
