A South Los Angeles man shot an 18-year-old neighbor woman to death in a dispute over a break-in at his home. Henry Edwards, 55, was booked on suspicion of murder after the fatal shooting of Michelle Lyons, 18, during an argument on the sidewalk in front of their homes at 61st Street and Vermont Avenue. Edwards had reported a burglary at his home earlier this week, in which a television set was stolen, and police said he believed that Lyons knew the identity of the burglar. Witnesses told officers he fired several shots at Lyons, barely missing her 23-year-old sister and 2-year-old niece who both sustained powder burns on their faces.
