Police Defuse Bomb

TEL AVIV — A bomb found Thursday on an Israeli bus in the town of Ashkelon was defused by a police explosives expert, authorities said.
Israeli leaders have warned of a surge in guerrilla activity to coincide with the current meeting in Algiers, Algeria, of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Palestine National Council.
