Sampson, ‘Cuckoo’s Nest’ Indian, Gets Transplants

HOUSTON — Will Sampson, the 6-foot-7 actor who played a silent Indian in the movie “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” received a heart and lung transplant Thursday at Methodist Hospital, a spokeswoman said. Sampson, 53, was listed in critical condition.
