A painting by the late pop artist Andy Warhol sold for more than $600,000 Tuesday, the highest price ever for a work by the painter, Christie’s auction in New York house said. The 1963 painting, “White Car Crashing 19 Times,” was bought by a Swiss dealer for almost double the previous highest price ever brought for a Warhol work, said Christie’s spokeswoman Lily Zimmermann.
