So, according to Robert Hilburn, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” wasn’t the Fab Four’s “most intimate or endearing album,” eh (“Readers as Critics: Beatles Still Fab,” by Robert Hilburn and Jon Matsumoto, May 3)?

Geeze, Bob, when was rock ever supposed to be? You want intimate and endearing, listen to Julio Iglesias.

Also, it’s not in the least unexpected that your absurdly small sample of “fans” tended, on the whole, to agree with the critics: 291 is no doubt almost exactly equal to the number of aspiring rock critics in Los Angeles.
