San Diego High School Swimming : Maxwell, Merten Each Win 2 Events

SAN DIEGO — Alison Maxwell of University City High School and Heather Merten of Mt. Carmel each won two events in the San Diego Section girls’ swimming preliminaries Thursday at Mount Carmel High.
Maxwell won the 200-meter intermediate medley in 2 minutes 10.49 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 59.31. Merten won the 50 freestyle in 24.30 and 100 freestyle in 52.88.
Mt. Carmel won the 200 medley relay in 1:56.56 and Patrick Henry won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:49.36.
Anne Murphy of Valhalla won the 500 freestyle in 5:08.51.
The girls swimming finals will be Saturday at Mt. Carmel.
