‘Tragedy in Persian Gulf’
The attack on our ship was tragic. Yet it surprises me that this has not happened before. The Persian Gulf is a virtual war zone. We provided arms to Iran through that hostage fiasco, so we have gotten involved. It is hard to get involved without eventually getting caught.
One of the weapons involved in the hostage crisis was the TOW system. Imagine Iran attacking us with one of them!
Arms sales have always struck me as a risky policy, since you never know how the arms will be used or against whom. No more arms to either side! I would prefer arms sales not happen at all, but that is too much to expect.
