Shipping to Europe

In the May 3 issue Eric Friedheim states in his question-and-answer column “Riding on Amtrak’s New Trains” that only the QE2 has regular passenger service to and from Europe this spring and summer. He is quite wrong. The Stefan Batory of Polish Ocean Lines will be making regular transatlantic crossings from Montreal to London, Rotterdam and Gdynia and return as it has for many years. Sailings from Montreal began May 12, from London May 2.
The eastbound passage of Oct. 7 will be the last, for the Stefan B is being taken out of service next spring after 46 years of service.
