Archive Corp. Signs $15 Million in Deals

Archive Corp., a Costa Mesa-based maker of cartridge tape drives, said that it has signed contracts worth $15 million with two separate companies.
A company spokesman said that the contract with Convergent Technologies, a San Jose maker of supermicro computer systems, is worth $12 million and should be completed in about two years. The other contract is with MDS Qantel of Hayward, which manufactures supermicro systems as well as minicomputers. It is valued at $3 million and should also be completed in about two years. The spokesman added that the completion of the contracts are about four to five months apart.
