Manhattan Beach : Streetscape Plans Approved

The City Council approved revised plans for the Downtown Streetscape Project.
The only bid submitted earlier this year for the downtown revitalization project was more than 50%higher than city estimates.
The city rejected the bid, and in efforts to trim costs and attract more bidders a committee overseeing the project developed alternative sidewalk and sign specifications.
Bids on the revised project are due by Oct. 1.
Construction on the Downtown Streetscape Project is set to start Jan. 2.
