A proposed Los Angeles International Song Festival that promised $300,000 in prizes and that was to have been held at the Hollywood Bowl Sept. 25-27 has been “postponed” because of financial problems, according to its executive director. Jorge Almendares said that he would notify contestants that they have the option of being refunded their $15 entry fee, or leaving their tapes and fees on file pending the rescheduling of the festival “in May or June.” He said Wednesday that the fate of the festival depends on his ability to attract sufficient funds from sponsors.
