Golden Wins Pact to Build Student Homes

M. H. Golden has been awarded a $12.5-million contract to build a student housing complex at UC San Diego.
The 22-building project, totaling 180,832 square feet, will be located on 6.8 acres at 4200 Gilman Drive and includes apartments in 18 buildings, two laundry facilities, student lounge and dean’s residence.
Now under construction and scheduled for completion by the fall of 1988, the complex will house 612 students and will include a plaza with a pergola. Each apartment is designed to accommodate three to five students and includes a living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms.
