New law--The explanation in Monday’s editions of The Times of a new state law involving trade secrets was inadvertently cut short. Barring overriding public interest to the contrary, judges may now close courtrooms to hear testimony in which technical trade secrets would be exposed. The bill (AB 2986) was sponsored by Assemblyman Charles W. Quackenbush (R-Saratoga).
