A hit-and-run accident in San Marcos left a pedestrian in critical condition Saturday morning, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Feliz Gonzales, 27, was crossing Mission Road just west of Pico Avenue at 7:14 a.m. when a brown pickup truck traveling west on Mission at 50 to 55 m.p.h. struck him, the Sheriff’s Department said. Visibility at the time was limited to 100 feet due to a light fog.
Gonzales was taken to Palomar Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with a broken leg, head injuries and a ruptured spleen.
