County Should Do Wilderness Job Right, Quit Calling People Eco-Freaks

Regarding the suit filed by the Audubon Society and Ray Chandos against the Santa Margarita Co. over Las Flores (“Suit Seeks to Halt Wilderness Area Plan,” Jan. 4), I say hooray for the Audubon Society and Chandos, who recognize that the human environment is like a priceless painting: human life the canvas and the environment the frame.
We in Orange County can frame our existence with all things man-made or we can demand an end to this mediocre option in favor of one that retains the very essence of and complement to our own short-lived existence.
I applaud Chandos and the Audubon Society. If not for such foresighted groups and residents, Orange County will look like nothing more than a cheap copy of a fine painting, in a chrome-and-asphalt frame.
