Pan Am Sues Man Accused of Bomb Threat: Pan American World Airways filed a $35-million suit against a Carson man accused of a bomb threat against a June 5 international flight. The federal suit contends that Saied Ebrahimi disrupted Flight 61 from Frankfurt, Germany, to Washington by telling fellow passengers that he had a bomb in his pocket. After Ebrahimi allegedly made the claim, the plane landed in Glasgow, Scotland, where it was searched for explosives. British authorities investigated the incident, but it was unclear whether criminal charges were filed. A Pan Am attorney said the suit is part of the carrier’s attempts “to be compensated for the damages and losses it has maintained.” (Case No. 91-0121. Filed Jan. 8, 1990.)
