Actor Jeff Conaway, of the hit television series “Taxi,” was convicted Monday of drunk driving stemming from an accident in which a cyclist was injured.
Conaway, 40, who played struggling actor Bobby Wheeler in the television series, faces a sentence of up to three years in prison, prosecutors said.
This was the second trial for Conaway. His first trial ended with jurors deadlocked 8 to 4 in favor of his acquittal. Deputy Dist. Atty. Lydia Delgadillo said in Santa Monica Superior Court that Conaway was driving more than 60 m.p.h. when his Porsche hit a bicycle ridden by Farid Farhan. The cyclist suffered a broken leg.
