COUNTYWIDE : State Parks Set New Reservation Rules
- Share via
Campers who want to reserve a site at state parks have new rules to follow.
State parks will no longer accept mail-in reservation requests for campsites. Reservations for families, groups, day use, Ano Nuevo Winter Elephant Seal Walks and scuba-dive teams can be made only by calling 1-(800)-444-7275 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week.
Camping fees vary from $7 to $14 a day, said Larry Paynter, spokesman for the state Department of Parks and Recreation.
If campers cancel reservations with less than a day’s notice, they will receive a refund but will have to pay two days camping fees, the spokesman said. Last year, campers were only charged for one day.
