Canyon Wrestlers Beat El Modena

Canyon High School, led by Jason Mitchell (24-0) at 145 pounds and Matt Padgett (24-1) at 171 pounds, defeated El Modena, 43-16, in a Century League wrestling match Tuesday at El Modena.
It was the 69th consecutive dual-meet victory for Canyon (10-0, 2-0), Orange County’s top-rated team. Canyon hasn’t lost a dual meet since 1986 and hasn’t lost in the league since 1981. Mitchell beat Danny Santana, 10-4, and Padgett defeated Eric Jacobs, 14-6.
