Baldwin Park : Firm Can’t Sell Diesel Gas

The City Council has upheld a Planning Commission decision to deny California Target Enterprises the right to sell diesel fuel at 3202 Baldwin Park Blvd.
The company was asked to stop selling diesel fuel on May 26, 1989, because city officials said the station was too small to serve large diesel trucks.
An ordinance stipulating the amount of space required for selling diesel fuel was enacted in 1988 in response to complaints that refueling diesel trucks tied up traffic.
The company appealed the order. A company representative on Wednesday denied that large diesel trucks purchased gas at the station. But City Council members provided photographs of big trucks at the site.
