The Pacific Symphony has been designated recipient of a trust currently valued at $1.2 million, to be received in 2008. The giver of the trust is William Gillespie, 49, of Newport Beach, who has given money to the Pacific, the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa and South Coast Repertory. The gift will be unrestricted; orchestra management plans to use it as part of an endowment fund, with the interest going toward annual operating expenses.
