A grandson of former Notre Dame football coach Frank Leahy has made an unwritten commitment to play for the Irish next season. Ryan Leahy, a 6-foot-5, 275-pound tackle from Yakima, Wash., spurned scholarship offers from Washington, Oregon and UCLA.
